Half Life Combine Sentry Turret

This is the Half Life Combine Sentry Turret from my favorite video game of all time Half Life 2.  Just like my Portal model I spent a ridiculous amount of time taking painstaking measurements from the game models to recreate this in CAD. This one is about as accurate as you can get to the game model with only a few slight changes to make printing it easier.  When printed it will stand about 9″ tall.

Printed in PLA here are the printed parts that make up the turret.

I did a little finishing on this with spot gazing putty and a lot of sanding.

The only problem with the model being so accurate it is as tippy in real life as in the game so I will probably have to glue it to a base when finished.

Here it is after a few coats of grey paint.

I just need to go back and add details and weathering now.

The blast deflector.

If it wasn’t so small I’d love to put a LED in here.

I used thin wire for the wires on the back.
