The Empire Lureworks – Battle Bug

This is another NED type bait I did custom for Empire Lure Works as part of the “Super Secret Bait Makers Guild”.

As always the bait started with a simple sketch which Jeremy drew up for me to make.

After some quick work in Fusion 360 the sketch came to life in CAD.

Before printing an actual mold I printed up an actual bait just to show Jeremy what it would look like in real life and not just one the screen.

Once everything looked good to go I printed a single cavity test mold first.

This is what the first injections looked like.

Just playing around with the single cavity mold I tried some dual color baits by first pouring a bit of one color in the mold then injecting a second color.  While not the best looking baits they are good enough for testing.

I also made a 3 cavity mold for him to try out.  I haven’t fished the actual baits yet because I wanted Jeremy to have that honor as it’s his design.

It didn’t take Jeremy long to test these out and they worked great…

The pickerel loved it too.

I can’t wait to try these out myself now that they have been proven.
