3D Printed Minnow Trap
This is a small Minnow Trap I designed just to see if I could. It was designed to be printed taking advantage of the fast Honeycomb infill pattern in Simplify3D and printing without any top or bottom layers. This produces the cage like pattern in the parts. Using this method you could create many useful items like animal cages, screen guards, sifting screens, etc by just adjusting the infill percentage to achieve the size holes you would like. I’ve only tested this out briefly one day for about an hour so haven’t caught anything in it.
STL files for this trap can be found at HERE at Printables.
The trap is printed flat and can be assembled when needed. The body had self locking tabs and the cone parts can be tied together with fishing line. The end caps then just snap in place to the main body. In theory you could easily transport it flat and put it together in a survival situation.
I used wire and glue to assemble it but you should still be able to see how it could be tied together.
