Rattletrap Dos
This is just another rattle trap I am working on. I still need to test it (action wise) though so I haven’t shared the files yet.
This was a simple conversion from the Tail Spinner Lure that I am also working on. I simply modified the design by just hollowing out the interior (making it into two different chambers) and then moving the front tie on location and replacing the rear spinner with another hook location.
I also cut up a soda can and glued the aluminum pieces into the rear rattle section of the lure to try to get a different sound from the rattle. I don’t know if it will make a difference to the fish but it’s worth experimenting with. Maybe I’ll make exact copy but without the aluminum and see if either one catches more fish.
Even though I haven’t tested this yet I went ahead and finished it because I wanted to try this new paint I bought. It’s called Pearl Fastback Green from Createx Colors. Its one of their Wicked Fluorescent & Pearlized Colors. It’s kind of like that ChromaFlair car paint where the color changes in the sunlight. It’s hard to tell from this picture but it has a bluish green color that changes to gold in the right lighting. I sprayed a little trans black over it for the scale pattern so it’s a little darker but it still looks really cool in real life.
This angle you can see how it looks a lot more blue…
…and then from this angle is has a lot more golden tones to it. If I ever see the sun again I’ll take better pictures of it outside that should show the transitions better.
