Ultralight Jitterbug

This is a ultralight version of my 3D printed Jitterbug. It’s a little over a 1.25″ and just under 2 grams.

It uses a single #12 hook with a #0 split ring for hardware.

The first test went pretty well and the Johnny roaches love it.  It is a light lure so it’s pretty hard to cast on a spinning reel setup…

… but it does work better on a fly reel setup. (At least right up until I smashed it into my trolling motor and destroyed the lip. I’m going to make the lip a little fatter and also try making a single hook version next.

Here are a few of the new version with the thicker lip ready for testing. Hopefully it has the same action and will hold up better this time. I was able to repair the old one (top lure) by printing a new one and snapping off the lips and gluing them on to the original one.

Works ok on the fly rod as long as I don’t smash in into the boat or motor.
