Wiggle Wart
STL’s for this lure are available for purchase from Cults3d.com
This is my version of the popular Wiggle Wart originally made by Storm lures which has since been bought out by Rapala.
For the design of the Wiggle Wart I had to work from images on the internet so it’s not a perfect copy but it’s as close as I am capable of designing from pictures. I don’t expect it to work as well as the original but even the store bought ones nowadays aren’t even as good as the true originals (or so people say.) Overall I am happy so far with how it came out.
The first pieces printed really well. I printed them at 25% and added (2) 7/32″ chrome balls for rattle and weight and used figure 8 hook hangers for the attachment points.
The assembled halves also went together pretty easy and the body shape is looked great so far. No I just need to test how it swims.
I painted the first prototype in a Shad pattern.
I put the sealing epoxy on a little heavy but it should still work fine… Hopefully.
While I was at it I did up a supersized version too. This one measures in at about 4.5 inches total with a 3″ body. I have no idea if it will work as these still both need testing.
Gave the SuperWart a fire tiger pattern.
Perch Pattern with a chromed (HVAC taped) bill.
First Catches…. all dinks but still a proven design now.
These first two pictures where back to back casts.
Outta the same hole on a different day.
Good ol’ Hound Dog to the rescue. I set the hook into a log. It’s one thing to lose a lure you bought but one you made… well there would be tears.

I only release the stl’s after I have actually tested the printed lure.
Je ne relâche les stl qu’après avoir testé le leurre imprimé.
Hey Steve,
First of all congrats for such a great imitation of the wiggle wart! I wonder if I you could send me the .stl, if you have finished testing the lure? Thank you!
It’s available on Cults3d for a few $ (https://cults3d.com/en/3d-model/various/wiggle-wart-replica-fishing-lure)
Hello friend, how many meters does it dive, and will a trolling lure be suitable?
It probably dives about 2-2.5 meters (best guess) but depends on retrieval speed I would think. I’m not too sure about the trolling question as that’s not something I do very often… I think the little version might be to erratic to troll to be honest but the big one might work but probably would dive deeper than stated during a troll.
Extra few bucks for the cad files or STEP? want to make a vacuum mold for them to make paint stencils. I purchased the stl files. pretty rad work you did.
I can probably get you a STEP… are you looking for the smaller one or the larger one?
