Wrench Lure

The Wrench Lure
This was another novelty custom lure I made for someone as part of the “Super Secret Bait Makers Guild” that I am apart of. (shhhh don’t tell anyone. 🤐)
This was the original design of the lure… It probably doesn’t have the exact profile and shape of a Snap on wrench but certain aspects needed to be changed to make it so it would float. Also the text originally was going to be cut into the body like on a real wrench but I didn’t know how I was going to paint the lure to look chrome.
Here was the first test print before any changes were made.
For the finished lure I ended up using HVAC tape to get the chrome look and just used decals for the Logos. I was going to make this a 10mm but I figured it would just get lost then.
Overall it didn’t come out as well as I would have liked but it’s not to bad for the time constraints I put myself under making it and it was only the second lure I ever tried to foil. I’m not sure if the epoxy clear coat will hold up on the chrome tape and it probably could have used a bit of weight and a bigger lip for more action but it did work as a shallow running crankbait anyway. I forgot to get action shots of it before sending it off though.
