Furnace Filter Holder
This is a filter holder I mad for my dad’s furnace awhile ago. It’s not the most exciting print but still functional non the less.
My dads house furnace sits on a custom riser that is bent from sheet metal. There is a slot in the front for the intake air filter but with the filter inserted completely it was hard to remove so I was asked if I could make something with my printer to fix this.
I came up with a simple design that could just clip onto the filter and then just slide right into the slot. It had to be designed in three separate pieces (four if you count the handle) because of the size limits of my printers bed.
The three pieces were then super glued together. Here you can see the hooks that clip onto the filter.
I also inlaid a front plate with the filter size on them. (of course he still buys the wrong size.)
This picture show the filter clipped on and ready to be installed in the riser.
When installed the filter holder also seals up the front face of the riser so the airflow only comes from below like its suppose too.
