This is my Ace Simple Ultimate it is custom covered in EconoKote. All Lettering, Squares, and Trim were hand cut with the exception of the black trim on the bottom of the wings and stab. This was done with a Top Flite SmartStripe Cutting Tool. I made a few slight modifications to the kit also. The wing was attached with 4/40 bolts and blind nuts over just wood screws, the landing gear plate was made into a hatch to allow easier access to the gas tank, the landing gear them self were attached with nylon 6/32 bolts, I went with bigger ailerons (1″ over the 3/4″ that came with the kit) only because he stock that came with the kit was garbage and 1″ was all I could find to replace it. I also use Du-Bro Nylon Hinges for the ailerons and EconoKoto as the hinges on the tail surfaces over sewing them all on. Some reinforcement was also done on the sheeting behind the cockpit just to beef it up where you hold the plane when starting it. This plane fly’s great, the only drawbacks are it get small quick, and the small wheels don’t like the grass so much on landings.
This thing flew like it was on rails.
The bottom for easier visualization.
Anyone remember the Budweiser Frogs? Yeah I built this a long time ago.
